I don’t know about you but I love a weekend break at a holiday park, especially one with lots of facilities. As much as I love exploring and visiting new places sometimes it’s nice to go somewhere and not have to leave the park to find something to do.
With that in mind, I’ve put together a post of the best family-friendly holiday parks in Yorkshire with the most things to do on-site. Not all of these are full-on entertainment parks, some of them are more laid back with slightly more adventurous activities.
There really is a holiday park for all tastes and hopefully, this post will help you decide on your next holiday in Yorkshire. This post includes sites with static caravans plus some lodges, touring pitches and the occasional glamping pod. If you click on a link in this piece, we may earn affiliate revenue.
Barmston Beach ParkDean Holiday Park – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – Sands Ln, Barmston, Driffield YO25 8PJ
Accommodation/pitches – There is a huge choice of static caravans to rent at Barmston Beach. These include dog-friendly accommodation options plus caravans with wheelchair access.
They have heating for the colder months and all accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge and microwave. Plus electric, lounge area and bedrooms. They have 1-3 bedroom caravans with the larger caravans being able to sleep up to 8 people.
There are no pitches on this site for touring caravans, motorhomes or tents.
Main things to do on-site – Barmston Beach is a Parkdean resort. It has beach access with plenty of family-friendly things to do. The holiday park boasts beautiful views from the cliff tops and on some days you can see as far as Bridlington and Flamborough head.
There is an outdoor swimming pool with a large water slide. Plus an outdoor playground, indoor soft play, arcade, restaurant, takeaway, entertainment and sporting activities.
Blue Dolphin Haven – North Yorkshire
Location – Blue Dolphin Holiday Park, Gristhorpe Bay, Filey, North Yorkshire YO14 9PU
Accommodation/pitches – At Blue Dolphin, there are plenty of individual holiday homes to choose from. They even have an exclusive area with four new accommodation types. These all include a guaranteed play area nearby for the kids and are situated within a quiet, peaceful area of the park. You can choose your location in the park with 2 to 3-bedroom caravans available. They have well-equipped static caravans with a kitchen, a TV in the lounge, shower room and some models have a decked area.
There is a touring site with a range of pitches for motorhomes, tents, tourers and trailer tents. The touring site is on a hill and can get quite muddy (you have been warned).
Main things to do on-site – Facilities include 3 food and drink venues, 2 entertainment venues, an amusement arcade and 5 outdoor play areas. Plus a crazy golf course, indoor heated pool, outdoor heated pool, freshwater fishing lake, water slide, go-kart track, sportsdrome and more.
Cayton Bay ParkDean Holiday Park – North Yorkshire
Location – Hill Lane, Cayton Bay, Scarborough YO11 3NJ
Accommodation/pitches – There is a huge choice of static caravans to rent at Cayton Bay Holiday Park. These include dog-friendly accommodation options plus caravans with wheelchair access.
They have heating for the colder months and all accommodation includes a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge and microwave. Plus electric, lounge area and bedrooms. They have 12-4 bedroom caravans with the larger caravans being able to sleep up to 8 people.
Please note Cayton Bay Holiday Park no longer has a touring/camping site.
Main things to do on-site – This is a Parkdean resort close to one of North Yorkshire’s most beautiful beaches. Please note the beach is over the main road from the park and access is a steep walk down (and back up again). Find out more about Cayton Bay Beach by clicking here.
Flamingo Land Resort – North Yorkshire
Location – Kirby Misperton, Malton YO17 6UX
Accommodation/pitches – There is a wide choice of caravan lodges at Flamingo Land Resort including some Lifestyle Lodges with hot tubs. Most can sleep up to 6 guests and have living/dining areas with a fully fitted kitchen, shower room and more.
They have a range of pitches for touring caravans and campers with tents.
Main things to do on-site – As well as being able to spend the day(s) at Flamingo Land there is also a number of facilities within the holiday park. Facilities include an indoor pool with a splash zone, entertainment, a games arcade, a bar, a gym, a cafe, a takeaway, a shop and more.
They also offer additional things to do for an extra cost including archery, an evening zoo safari, waterwalkerz, amusements and a climbing wall.
Flower of May Holiday Park – North Yorkshire
Location – Lebberston, Cliff, Scarborough YO11 3NU
Accommodation/pitches – At the Flower of May Holiday Park they have 2-3 bedroom static caravans. They are fully equipped with a TV, microwave, cooker and a fridge freezer. Plus central heating, shower room and a picnic table outside. They also have glamping pods that can sleep up to 4 people. There is a kettle and a microwave but other facilities are shared. Dogs are not permitted in their self-catering accommodation.
There are also pitches for touring caravans. Tents are not permitted.
Main things to do on-site – Indoor swimming pool, bar complex with adult and family lounges. Plus children’s play area, indoor multi-court, squash courts and fish and chip shop. There is also a mini-market, skate park, arcade and more.
Forest Holidays Copton – North Yorkshire
Location – Location – Cropton, Pickering YO18 8ES
Accommodation/pitches – There is a good choice of cabins to choose from and they all have an outdoor hot tub. Some of the lodges are pet-friendly and have wheelchair access. A typical lodge includes one double room with an en-suite and one twin room. Plus a kitchen, decking, underfloor heating, lounge area, TV and more.
There are no touring/camping pitches.
Main things to do on-site – You can enjoy forest walks, cycle trails and nature trails. There are ranger-led walks and activities, a zip wire, mountain bike hire, archery, a shop and a cafe. Please note that there may be a charge for some activities.
Forest Holidays Keldy – North Yorkshire
Location – Keldy Cabin, Cawthorn, Keldy Castle, Pickering YO18 8HW
Accommodation/pitches – There is a good choice of cabins to choose from and they all have an outdoor hot tub. Some of the lodges are pet-friendly and have wheelchair access. A typical lodge includes one double room with an en-suite and one twin room. Plus a kitchen, decking, underfloor heating, lounge area, TV and more.
There are no touring/camping pitches.
Main things to do on-site – There is a shop and a coffee lounge plus forest walks, cycle trails, a play area and nature trails. For an additional charge you can take part in archery, ranger-led walks and activities plus there is a zip wire.
Gulliver’s Valley Theme Park Resort – South Yorkshire
Location – Mansfield Rd, Sheffield S26 5QW
Accommodation/pitches – Voyager’s Village is located next to the theme park. They have a great selection of themed accommodation which has been specially designed for families. They have Western cabins, a hotel with Princess suites, Lost World Lodges and Unicorn suites which can sleep up to 5 that are also in the hotel.
There are no touring/camping pitches.
Main things to do on-site – The theme park is your main thing to do with a great selection of family rides (most do have a height limit). If you’re looking for anything else to do in the area there is Aston Springs Farm and Rother Valley Park.
Primrose Valley Haven – North Yorkshire
Location – Primrose Ave, Primrose Valley, Filey YO14 9RF
Accommodation/pitches – Primrose Valley has a huge range of static caravans to choose from with 1-3 bedrooms and the higher-end caravans have a decked area. The caravans come with a kitchen area with an open-plan living/dining area.
If you book through Haven you can choose for your stay to include entertainment passes or to save money if you’d rather explore the local area you can book without passes. The passes include entry to everything and we always prefer to stay on-site as there is so much to do.
There are pitches for tourers and tents.
Main things to do on-site – There’s so much to do here. They have 2 entertainment venues, 3 outdoor play areas, 8 food and drink venues and an Aerial Adventure course. Plus sports court and range, boating lake, climbing wall, coarse fishing lake and crazy golf course.
Plus direct beach access, a funfair, an amusements arcade, a Go-kart track and a heated indoor adventure pool. Heated outdoor pool, indoor play area for toddlers, multi-lane water slide, paddling pool. pool tables, ropes course, Tennis courts and more.
Reighton Sands Haven – North Yorkshire
Location – Reighton Gap, Filey YO14 9SH
Accommodation/pitches – There is a range of static caravans to choose from with 1-3 bedrooms and the higher-end caravans have a decked area. The caravans come with a kitchen area with an open-plan living/dining area.
If you book through Haven you can choose for your stay to include entertainment passes or to save money if you’d rather explore the local area you can book without passes. The passes include entry to everything and we always prefer to stay on-site as there is so much to do.
There are pitches for tourers and campers.
Main things to do on-site – 3 outdoor play areas, 3 food and drink venues, a 9-hole golf course and an all-weather multi-sports range. Plus entertainment venue, amusements arcade, heated indoor pool and lazy river. Nature trail and pool tables.
Rudding Holiday Park – North Yorkshire
Location – Harrogate HG3 1JH
Accommodation/pitches – The holiday park offers lakeside luxury lodges and two other types of lodges. Plus cottages which are great for a family holiday. They have 2-3 bedroom lodges with an open plan living area and some of the lodges have a hot tub.
There are pitches for caravans and campers.
Main things to do on-site – There is a heated outdoor pool plus a children’s paddling pool. You can enjoy a round of golf plus there’s an outdoor playground, a games room, cinema, spa and a restaurant.
Sand Le Mere Holiday Village – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – Southfield Lane, Tunstall, Hull HU12 0JN
Accommodation/pitches – Set on the coast midway between Withernsea and Hornsea with the beach a short drive away. There is a choice of 2-3 bedroom static caravans with the largest being able to sleep up to 8 people. The caravans have a TV, bath or shower room, kitchen area, living/dining area and pets are welcome in some of the caravans.
They have pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes.
Main things to do on-site – The site includes a children’s play area, on-site fishing, a gym, a bar and an indoor pool complex with a splash zone. Plus pool activities, entertainment, soft play, restaurant, takeaway, shop, amusements and more.
Skipsea Sands Holiday Village – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – Central Ave, Skipsea, Driffield YO25 8TZ
Accommodation/pitches – Skipsea Sands is a Parkdean resort located just a stone’s throw from a beach. There’s a huge choice of static caravans including some lovely-looking modern ones. The caravans have 2-3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 people. Caravans include a TV, kitchen area, dining area, bath or shower room, heating and more.
They have pitches for tourers and campers.
Main things to do on-site – There is plenty to do on-site including family entertainment, a children’s play area, a gym, kid’s clubs, takeaway and a bar. Plus an indoor heated pool, soft play area, mini-golf, fishing lake, restaurant, amusements, gym, multi-sports court and more.
Skirlington Leisure Park – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – Skipsea, Driffield YO25 8SY
Accommodation/pitches – The site has static caravans to rent with 2-3 bedrooms. These include a TV, kitchen, shower room, heating, lounge area and more. Pets are allowed in some of the caravans.
There are pitches for tourers and tents.
Main things to do on-site – This is a family-run cliff-top park with direct beach access and it has been awarded a David Bellamy Gold award for conservation. Facilities include family entertainment, a children’s play area, on-site fishing and kid’s clubs. Plus an indoor heated pool, restaurant, amusements, a shop, gym, fun zone and more.
South Cliff Holiday Park – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – Reception, Bridlington YO15 3QN
Accommodation/pitches – South Cliff is a 4-star graded holiday park located a few metres from an award-winning beach with close proximity to the park and ride that goes into the centre of Bridlington.
The park has seen a lot of improvements over the past two years and most areas have had a complete overhaul with the touring site now being in a slightly different location. They have a range of static caravans ranging from accessible through to premier. They also have luxury lodges and shepherd huts.
There are pitches for tourers and tents.
Main things to do on-site – Facilities include entertainment, a restaurant, an adventure playground and a smaller play area with sports. Plus a mini-market, close proximity to a beach and fish and chip takeaway.
Thornwick Bay Haven – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – N Marine Rd, Flamborough, East Yorkshire YO15 1AU
Accommodation/pitches – There is a range of static caravans to rent at Thornwick Bay including traditional chalet-style accommodation. They also have an exclusive area with more space around your holiday home, decking with views over the lake in a quiet area of the park.
They have pitches for tourers and tents.
Main things to do on-site – Facilities include entertainment, a heated indoor pool, Nature Rockz garden and a paddling pool. Plus restaurants, an adventure trail, an activity barn, a shop, a takeaway, a fishing lake, amusements, play areas and more.
Withernsea Sands – East Riding of Yorkshire
Location – Humberside, Nutmeg Grove, Withernsea HU19 2BS
Accommodation/pitches – There is a choice of around 15 different static caravans with 1-3 bedrooms that can sleep up to 8 people. A standard caravan includes a TV, shower room, kitchen, living/dining area and heating.
There are pitches for tourers and tents.
Main things to do on-site – Withernsea Sands is a Parkdean resort that is just a short walk from a blue flag sandy beach. Facilities include family entertainment, a children’s play area, an indoor heated pool and kid’s clubs. Plus mini-golf, sports court, restaurant, shop and more.
