We are big fans of theme parks and Efteling is by far our favourite. This says a lot as we are also massive Disney fans. Efteling is located around a 30-minute drive from Eindhoven Airport in The Netherlands. It is perfect for families with children of all ages as there is such a diverse range of things to do there.

Efteling has a great range of thrill rides plus many family rides. The park has a fantasy theme and many of the rides are like nothing else we’ve experienced before. There is so much to see and do there that we recommend at least two nights and two days at the theme park. Not only do you have all the great rides but there is also the wonderful Fairytale Forest.

Because Efteling is more of a two-day park we can highly recommend staying on-site. Their accommodation is very affordable and your theme park tickets plus parking are included in stays booked via their website. We have stayed at the Efteling Hotel where breakfast was included and the Efteling Holiday Village Loonsche Land where we could cook our own breakfast. For further reading about Efteling, we will include links to our other posts at the bottom of this one. Please read on to find out about the best places to stay at Efteling. Hotels at Efteling Theme Park

There are currently two hotels at Efteling, soon to be three. The first hotel ever built was the Efteling Hotel.

Where To Stay At Efteling - Hotels and Accommodation

The Efteling Hotel is the closest accommodation to the theme park at a short walk of just a few minutes. It has 20 themed suites plus comfort rooms and spacious Junior Suites. A stay here includes a buffet breakfast and there is the option of eating in their restaurant in the evening. They also serve snacks and drinks from their bar.

There is a small play area for younger children with a slide, wall puzzles, table football and a TV. Characters also appear at breakfast time and there is a magic jester most evenings.

Comfort Rooms – Their cheapest comfort rooms can sleep 3 people and they also have comfort rooms that can sleep up to 5 people. These have a spacious double bed, bunk beds and a pull-out single bed.

Junior Suites – These spacious suites sleep up to 5 people. They are located in the tower and the suites have two spacious double beds plus a pull-out single bed.

Themed Suites – With 20 different themed suites to choose from the tough part is choosing which to stay in. We chose the Raveleijn Suite as it is the only hotel room with two bedrooms. There is the Flying Dutchman Suite with two double beds and a bunk bed plus a luxury captain’s sitting area. Or perhaps the Cinderella Suite with two extra-large double beds plus a cauldron and a pumpkin.

We love the look of the atmospheric Laaf Suite with brewing kettles including a double bed in one of them. The Hans Christian Anderson Suite has a little fairy-tale museum and two double beds. Or what about the Fairytale Tree Suite which sleeps up to 5 people? This is a tower room with an enchanting double bed, bunk bed and a pull-out single bed.

Efteling Hotel Loonsche Land

Situated in amongst nature is the Loonsche Land Hotel. This hotel is a 10-minute walk from Efteling’s main entrance. Most days there is also a courtesy bus to and from the park. In the hotel, there is De Proeftuyn restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or just a drink.

Around the holiday village outside of the hotel, there are a number of play areas plus a small animal enclosure. The hotel has 75 rooms and all hotel stays include breakfast. There are three different types of bedrooms.

Adapted Hotel Room – This hotel room can sleep up to 6 people. There is an adapted bathroom plus an extra bedroom with a double bed and a shower. Both sides of the bed in the living/bedroom are accessible with a wheelchair. The rooms are separated from each other by heavy curtains.

Other Accommodation at Efteling

If you would prefer to have your own private accommodation Efteling has a number of options most of which have their own kitchen areas.

Efteling Holiday Village Loonsche Land

Depending on where you are located on the Holiday Village site you could be anything from a 10-15 minute walk from the main theme park entrance. The village offers simple yet cosy holiday houses which have been made from natural materials.

We stayed in a holiday house on our first stay at Efteling and we loved the natural look of the area. The houses almost blend into their surroundings and we had a very peaceful and comfortable stay. We especially loved our patio area for sitting out at night time. Around the grounds, there are outdoor playgrounds plus a small area with animals. They have two types of holiday houses.

Low-allergen Holiday House – Sleeping up to 6 people hidden among the greenery are their Dune houses. It has been made dust-free through the microfibre method and rooms are separated from each other by sturdy allergen-free curtains. You also have the added bonus of your own cooking facilities.

Holiday House – These also sleep 6 people and are the same as the other holiday houses just without the low-allergen microfibre method.

Also at Loonsche Land, there is a range of themed holiday rooms in the village. They are individual buildings but they do not have a kitchen area so breakfast is provided in the hotel restaurant.

Themed Room Tree – These unique themed holiday houses sleep up to 6 people. They are on stilts and enjoy tree views. There are two bedrooms which are separated by heavy curtains. These houses are linked to each other by wooden footbridges. They also have a Themed Room Tree for 4 people.

Themed Room Water – At the waterfront these unique themed rooms are suitable for 4-6 people. You can enjoy the comfort of a hotel with the privacy of a holiday house.

Themed Room Dune – With a small terrace and a view of the dunes these rooms sleep up to 6 people. There is a double bed in the living room and then a separate bedroom with heavy curtains in between and 3 single beds.

Efteling Bosrijk

Bosrijk has atmospheric holiday homes, family rooms and group accommodation. The area is quite large so guests can park in a free car park at the entrance to the holiday village. It is then a 10-minute walk to the theme park. There is also a courtesy shuttle bus.

There is a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus guests of Bosrijk can enjoy a pizza delivery. There is also a bar, a swimming pool and playgrounds dotted around. You may even meet Mr Sandman who lives in the big sand castle in the middle of the lake.

The Badhuys at the Holiday Village Efteling Bosrijk is an indoor water play area with a paddling pool. Plus a pool for toddlers, a 130cm deep pool and various play items. Guests staying at the Efteling Hotel can also use the pool here.

Holiday Homes – There are 6 different Holiday Homes to choose from at Borsrijk. From atmospheric village houses to luxurious Woodland houses. You can choose between standard and luxury versions, with or without a sauna. These sleep up to 6-8 people.

We love the sound of the Luxury Lakeside Houses that sleep up to 6 people. They have three bedrooms in houses with 2 floors set on the edge of the lake. There is an outside sauna and a bathroom with a jacuzzi plus a kitchenette.

Family Rooms – Although like a hotel it doesn’t actually state that Landhuys is a hotel. The family rooms are located in a large building and are modern and cosy in design. They are located close to the facilities and the living/bedroom has a seating area with a TV, a small fridge and coffee and tea facilities. There is also a separate bedroom with bunk beds. Breakfast is included with a stay in their family rooms.

Group Accommodation – If you are staying as a large group of up to 12-24 people then you may want to consider their group accommodation. Their detached luxurious woodland houses are fully equipped and there is a great range to choose from.

Their Woodland houses that sleep up to 12 people have 6 bedrooms one with an en-suite plus three separate toilets and two further bathrooms. There is also a spacious living room with two sitting areas, a large dining area and access to a terrace. Plus of course your own cooking facilities.
