This is a round-up post for events this Halloween 2025 in the East of England, for the October half-term. We’ve found events in all of the counties and there are plenty of ideas to keep you busy. Audley End – Halloween Half Term – Essex

Gather your little monsters for a ghoulishly good day out at Audley End House and Gardens this half-term. Follow the quest to solve creepy clues and gather round to listen to spooky stories. Join Audley End’s very own Victorian ghost hunters as they take you on a spooky family-friendly adventure. They’ll tell interactive spine-tingling stories and spill the secrets of ghost-hunting techniques from the 19th century. Audley End Miniature Railway – Halloween Special – Essex

Join us for a magical, family-friendly day out in the beautiful North Essex countryside. Climb aboard our Halloween train for a magical journey deep into the forest. The tracks are lined with charming, not-too-spooky scenes for all ages. As the train winds through the golden autumnal trees, passengers will spot bears dressed up like mummies, a vampire, skeleton mermaids and scarecrows!  

Once you’re off the train, little witches and wizards in training can create their very own potions at our hands-on potion-making experience. For an extra sprinkle of magic, visit the stage area where a friendly witch will put on a lively potion show, full of fizz, fun, and a little bit of harmless hocus pocus. Plus even more. Barleylands Farm – Halloween Festival – Essex

Kentwell Hall – Halloweenies – Tickets on sale – Essex

This October half-term, bring your little ones to Halloweenies, Kentwell Hall’s School of Sorcery for a magical, spooky adventure!  Students will help choose and decorate their wands, learn some spells and brew a potion or two as well as meeting magical characters along the way. Nene Valley Railway – Thomas’s Halloween Adventure – Cambridgeshire

Come and join Thomas on his Big Adventure, as he takes the main line from Peterborough Nene Valley to Wansford with his special train.
