Here it is, our list of the best summer events across the South East to keep you busy all summer. This list includes events in the North East – County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear. All events are family-friendly.

Bamburgh Castle – Uhtred’s School of Warriors – Northumberland

When? Various dates over the school holidays

A Bit About – Children will learn what it is to be a Viking in the Inner Ward of Bamburgh Castle where real Vikings once trod. They’ll be asked to name their sword, think of their own battle cry and have their photo taken with Ormhildr as well as learn sword technique. They will learn how to follow Ormhildr’s instructions and learn how things can go wrong when you don’t listen!
