Do you want to save money when visiting Florida? Would you like the freedom of your own place where you can cook your own meals, do some washing and swim in your own pool? Even if you stay at Disney for a week you could unwind afterwards with a stay in a villa. After al you may well need it after a week on your feet.
I’ve been browsing online looking at potential options for somewhere to stay other than Disney World. I recently published a comprehensive planning post for our holiday to Florida early next year. It’s going to be very expensive to stay at Disney and takes out most of our budget. So with over 2,000 villas to choose from at Clickstay in Orlando alone I’m sure there’s something out there to take the strain off the purse.
Villas near to Disney
From around £500 per week up to £13,000 a week there is something for everyone. Yes, I really did just type £13,000.
At the lower priced end at around £500-600, off-peak, for a one-week rental there is a good choice of properties to rent. Some of the properties come with the use of a shared pool and some even have their own pool.
In this price range, we found a villa in Kissimmee with its own private pool and lakeside views. The villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and sleeps 6 people. It has internet, air conditioning, car parking, BBQ, washing machine and more. Its location in Kissimmee is approx. 15 minutes to Orlando airport and within easy reach of the Disney parks.
A £1k a week off-peak rental can either provide you with a better location or a much larger and more luxurious villa.
Located in Davenport, just a short drive from Disney is a great range of holiday villas to rent. The villa pictured below has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and sleeps 10 people. It has its own private pool with a Jacuzzi. The villa is very large and offers 2700 sq. ft. of space. There is even a games room in the garage. It also has internet, air conditioning and parking.
Even at £1,500 a week this price band of villa can still be cheaper than staying in most Disney hotels for a week. At £1,500, off-peak you can find some truly lovely properties to rent. Properties in this price bracket tend to be a lot more modern and spacious.
The villa below has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms and is just a 10-minute drive from Disney. It sleeps 12 people and has its own private pool and again has air conditioning, parking, wifi and a BBQ.
We are going to go totally out of budget now, just for a bit of fun. There are actually quite a few properties to rent between £7-8,000. They mostly have the use of a shared pool. The villa pictured below is around £8k, off-peak, and looks like something out of Disney itself. It has 9 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms and sleeps up to 20 people.
It has all the standard facilities of the villas above. Because it is located on a holiday rental development it benefits from the use of a few shared pools and other facilities such as a gym and golf course.
Why rent a holiday property?
Renting can not only save you money on accommodation but on food as well. It could get extremely expensive to eat out during your holiday to Disney. With renting a villa you have the option to cook your own meals or prepare a picnic to take with you. It also means you can have cheaper and cold drinks waiting for you in the fridge.
You can also benefit from your own private pool which can be a big benefit for many families. Another great reason to rent a holiday property is being able to wash your own clothes and dry them at your leisure.
