Woburn Safari Park is in Woburn, not far off the M1 and just a short drive from Milton Keynes. It’s a great zoo to visit all year round especially as you get to see most of the animals, from the warmth of your car.

Woburn Safari Park review

There is a road safari with five separate areas to drive around full of some amazing animals. We had a tiger size up our car and try to mount it, lionesses walking right by our car, a huge bear again right by the side of our car and zebras walking across the path in front of us. We actually went around twice, once in the morning and again in the late afternoon.

Our late afternoon drive was even better than earlier on. Our top tip is to hang around in your car as much as you can. Patience pays off. Other animals, you can see include rhinos, monkeys, giraffes and more. They also have an enclosure of elephants although you don’t drive through this only past it.

On the foot safari, you can walk in the same enclosure as wallabies, see penguins swimming, walk amongst their lemurs, squirrel monkeys, goats, birds and more. Throughout the day they have many scheduled events, such as sea lion and parrot shows, a 3D film (additional cost), animal feeding sessions and on some days they have elephant meet and greets.

They also have a train ride and swan/dragon boats. Plus an outdoor play area with covered bouncy castles and also a large indoor soft play area. There’s also a GoApe and Treetops action trail for older kids (additional cost).
