Welcome to our what’s on guide this Easter in the East Midlands in 2024. This includes events and attractions that are open in Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire. Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Please check with the attractions that they are open and their events are running before you leave home. Many attractions still require visitors to pre-book in advance. Please note that entrance prices etc are not included below, please visit the relevant website for further information.

Belton House – Lincolnshire

When? 27th March – 14th April

Event – Easter Trail About – Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family. Come along and explore the beautiful gardens at Belton. Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.

Belvoir Castle – Leicestershire

Event – Bertie’s Easter Expedition About – Embark on an enchanting trail with Bertie the Belvoir and his woodland friends featuring Mossy the Mouse, Sylvie the Squirrel and Oswald the Owl. Discover hidden clues and riddles to complete the quest!

Bolsover Castle – Derbyshire

Event – Easter Adventure Quest. About – Join us for a cracking adventure quest at Bolsover Castle this Easter holiday. Hunt for clues in the castle grounds, track down the Easter eggs and get rewarded with a tasty chocolate treat. You can take on the quest every day of the school holidays, and it costs just £2 to take part. This is for each child, whether you’re a member or not, and it’s on top of the ticket price. There’s no need to book, and you can pay when you arrive at the site.

Event – Easter Egg Treasure Hunt A Bit About – Bring your family and come with your friends for our egg-cellent Treasure Hunt on Easter Sunday. Little ones will love hunting for clues hidden around the picturesque Sculpture Garden to solve the seasonal puzzle and claim an Easter Egg from Burghley’s Easter Bunny. Grown-ups can challenge themselves too – tricky questions for adults to answer are included along the trail with the chance to win Afternoon Tea in The Orangery in a prize draw.

Calke Abbey – Derbyshire

Event – Easter Egg Hunts About – There’s a choice of two main trails to pick from: – The long trail takes you around the parkland and Calke Explore. – The shorter, accessible trail is suitable for little legs, exploring the Pleasure Grounds and stableyards. For those looking for a bigger adventure, there’s also the option of an orienteering trail. Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears, and don’t forget, you can choose from either a chocolate egg or a vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.

Easter Family Trail A Bit About – Can you balance your egg on the spoon without dropping it or hop like a bunny in the sack race? Don’t forget to look for the fairies hiding in the trees! Bring a picnic and relax on the benches under the star tent. Or, head indoors to the café or Clock Tower Parlour for a drink and a snack. When you’ve finished, return to the Discovery Centre to collect your chocolate Easter egg and make a seasonal craft to take home. No booking is required, the trail is £3 per person. Admission into the park applies.

Event – Easter Eggstra A Bit About – Can you help Mr Bernie Bunny find all his friends and win an Easter-themed prize? (The Easter trail starts at the Learning Centre – cost: £1 per child.) Join in the seasonal fun.

Event – Easter weekend at the Heights A Bit About – Celebrating the fact that Queen Victoria visited the Heights when she was a young princess Easter weekend will be a Regal extravaganza. Come along in fancy dress for a special gift and the chance to win a golden easter egg. Look out for other royal visitors too.
