Your fang-tastic experience will begin at the station where our station masters will board you upon our Halloween express. Chugging deep into the Estate Woodland you will arrive at the witches’ house and be greeted by the coven of witches together with their cheeky monster friends. The wicked witches and playful monsters will entertain you, cackling and chanting spells around their cauldrons. But make sure you behave yourselves as they perform their witchy dance, or they might cast a spell on you. Once you return from your train journey the entertainment continues as you venture back into the woods to meet Belinda the Fortune Telling Witch….and more.

Join in with our fang-tastic themed activities taking place. Halloween trail – Collect your trail on arrival (one per family group) and look out for the four boards to complete each activity during your visit. Hand in your completed trail to collect a small prize! Join the good witches and wizards in the Craft Coven to create your own potions, spells and other witchy crafts. East Anglia Transport Museum – Halloween – Event confirmed – Suffolk

No tricks – just treats, but there’s some spooky goings on around the site with a free witch hunt for the children with a prize for every child. The late running of our trams trolley buses and train into the evening will be a chilling experience for all, as the woods come alive with the spirits of All Hallows Eve when it gets dark. There will be extra treats for any children in fancy dress.

Our friends from a famous school for witchcraft and wizardry will be making an appearance to meet everyone. With a pumpkin patch, deadly disco, broomstick and wand making, and much more, our Halloween Festival is packed full of spooky treats.

Epping Ongar Railway – Fright Week – Tickets on sale – Essex

Take a ride on our steam hauled ghost train from North Weird. Before boarding, dare you collect an activity pack from our spooky porter? During the journey, watch out for spooky characters on board who will scare and entertain in equal measure. On arrival at Ongar, look out for the ghosts as you follow our ghost hunt, and admire the gruesome graveyard, and why not enjoy a calming hot chocolate or other refreshments from the Buffet Stop cafe?

On your return to North Weird transfer to our Spooky Diesel Train for a mysterious return ride into Epping Forest. There may be theatrical smoke and other effects too.

Huge spiders have taken over the historic grounds and have made a terrifying labyrinth of webs and nests inside one of the buildings! We need your help to find them because our staff are too scared! Nene Valley Railway – Halloween Fancy dress ghost train – Tickets on sale – Cambridgeshire

We have a fun packed WEEKEND planned, so dust off that spooky costume, pop to the shops & pick up a new one or pull out your needle and thread and make your own. There will be a prize for the best costume on each day, so come on Dad & Grandad that includes you too.

Your travel ticket for this event will be a Rover Ticket which will allow you to jump on and off the train so you can explore each Station along the line Thomas will be hauling his own train down to Yarwell and back to Wansford, on which you will get to meet Mr G. Host as you pass through the tunnel (he’s the Wansford friendly Ghost of course), the lights on the train will be switched off for a short period of time at this point in the journey.

The popular Lord of the Rings themed family challenge is back for October half term, bigger than ever, celebrating 20 years since ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’ hit the big screen! As well as the Ring Quest trail, there are the huge spiders of Mirkwood and a dragon guarding its treasure to see. Complete the Ring Quest and find the rings and runes to save Middle Earth.

Wizard Wolfgang has been busy trying to use magic to bring animals back from extinction. Unfortunately he jumbled up his spells and managed to turn himself into a pumpkin instead!

He needs your help to follow his tricky trail, collecting letters along the way to discover the magic word to reverse his spell. Hunt for clues, find fascinating animal facts and test your spell-casting skills. The first of the two brand-new trails is ideal for younger visitors aged 4-7, while there’s a longer and trickier challenge for older wizards-in-training (recommended for 7-12yrs).
