A Bit About – 13th-17th August Medieval alchemist “Discover mysterious medicines, peculiar concoctions and bizarre apparatus with Dr John Green, the most celebrated medieval alchemist in the entire land.” Plus Jesting with Zooted 30th July to 3rd August. Medieval music on selected dates, birds of prey and more.


Alnwick Garden – Summer of Play and Imagination – Northumberland

A Bit About – “As Summer holidays arrive, there’s no better time to stretch your legs and minds so join our ever-enthusiastic events team and play our MASSIVE lawn games, take part in a variety of sports and games and prepare to get wet with the return of Splash Alnwick! Throughout the Summer, you can come along and take part in all of these activities each and every day. All events will take place on a 3-day rotation.”

Bamburgh Castle – Various Events – Northumberland

Beamish – Summer of Fun – County Durham

Paxton House – Fairies and Dragons trail – Northumberland

A Bit About – “Look out for our new Fairies & Dragons Trail, launching at Paxton House this summer.  Follow a trail through our spacious grounds to meet exciting fantasy characters and get prepared for some puzzles and surprises which can be enjoyed by all the family.”

Raby Castle – Summer Safari Trail – County Durham

A Bit About – “Across the summer holidays, Raby Castle’s picturesque deer park will come to life with our seasonal trail. Don your explorer’s hat and binoculars and set out on an adventure with our summer safari trail. Follow your map to uncover all of our lost items (and animals!) which will be hidden around the park. Search high and low along the ha-ha outside our Walled Gardens, through the trees and around the ponds.” Plus other events listed on their website.
