If you are looking for a top-notch child-friendly hotel then the Golden Avenida Family Suites is the one for you. This hotel takes family holidays to the next level with fantastic kid’s clubs, family-focused dining and a great range of activities. Plus you are located close to one of Europe’s biggest theme parks, PortAventura World Theme Park near Barcelona. The hotel is located in the popular seaside resort of Salou on Spain’s Costa Dorada. A sandy beach is just 800 metres away and even closer you will find shops, bars and restaurants. Reus airport is just a 45-minute coach ride away.
Highlights
For the kids, there is a splash pool with mini-flumes, tipping buckets and a slide that looks like a tropical fish. Little ones also have a second shallow pool that is perfect for paddling. The main pool is huge and it is spread out across the gardens. For those looking for a quieter swim, there is also an indoor swimming pool. Towels can be hired for a deposit which will save more room in your suitcase for souvenirs. Close to the pool, there is also an air-conditioned baby lounge which is open all day, every day. In here there are microwaves, bottle warmers and changing facilities.

Your Board Basis
You can choose to stay half-board, full-board or all-inclusive. The all-inclusive package includes a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus mid-afternoon snacks, soft drinks and some local and branded alcoholic drinks which are served from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m. The main buffet restaurant has big tables for larger groups plus quieter adults-only areas. Those with special dietary requirements will be pleased to know that this hotel is geared up for different requirements and you can contact them in advance with any questions that you may have.
Additional Activities
Also on-site there is archery, aeroball, raft building and a crazy golf course for ages 6 and over. Plus canoeing, tennis courts, ten-pin bowling and a playground. For the more adventurous guests, there is an aerial adventure course.
For ages 4-15 the hotel runs a Football academy and ages 3-adult can participate in the Swim academy. That’s not everything! The hotel also has a Stage academy, a diving centre a multi-sports court and they run a daytime activity programme. There is an additional charge for some of the activities.
On hand to provide guests with a programme of activities are dedicated sports and activity hosts. These are run seven days a week. The hotel also has a playground, a soft play area and an outdoor fitness area. Free Wi-Fi is available to all guests and reception is open 24 hours a day.
Entertainment
The on-site TUI Kid’s Club is split into different age groups so there’s something for everyone. Plus in the evening there are games and shows for all the family to enjoy. At the kid’s clubs, there are everything from disco nights to parent-and-baby sessions, six days a week. Their team has been trained to UK standards by TUI and has undergone relevant checks.
The Rooms
All bedrooms come with a balcony, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and tea and coffee-making facilities. Plus a lounge and a fridge. You can update to a suite with pool views. Suites can sleep up to 4 or 5 people.
