Away Resorts has a number of family-friendly holiday parks located across the UK. They have recently added several parks to their portfolio so there is even more choice. Our particular favourite is Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire which we have stayed at on three separate occasions. They take great pride in their diverse range of lodges, caravans and even holiday homes. Their parks are set within areas of natural beauty, national parks, beaches and places of interest. With 25 parks to choose from it can be hard to know where to stay. We take a look at 8 of the best Away Resorts parks for families which are based on personal experience, reviews and on-site facilities.
Tattershall Lakes – Lincolnshire
Address: 57 Sleaford Rd, Tattershall, Lincoln LN4 4JG
Information – Located in the Lincolnshire countryside close to RAF Coningsby is Tattershall Lakes. We used to live up the road and still, we managed three holidays here. If you’re lucky you may even spot a spitfire or Lancaster Bomber flying over during a stay here. It is set next to a range of lakes including one for jet skis, one for pedalos, another with an inflatable course and the larger one with other watersports.
It has an indoor pool a huge outdoor lido pool plus an indoor splash pad area and an outdoor splash pad zone. There is an arcade, restaurants, a small beach and water play area, a fun play area with a wooden spitfire and an entertainment venue. Plus there is a sports court, crazy golf, bike hire, a Zip Wire adventure and a high ropes course. It is worth noting that guest passes are needed to enter into their complexes and the park’s facilities.

Sandy Balls – Hampshire
Address: Sandy Balls New Forest Holiday Village, Southampton Rd, Fordingbridge SP6 2JZ
Information – On the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire is Sandy Balls holiday park. There is a whole host of activities on-site plus the New Forest is on your doorstep. You have a couple of restaurants to choose from and a Woodside Suite where all the family can enjoy the entertainment. There is an outdoor pool plus an indoor pool perfect for when the weather isn’t as nice. Other facilities include a gym, a beauty treatment suite, bike hire and an arcade. Plus there is a dog walking area, soft play and a fun adventure playground.

St Ives Bay – Cornwall

Information – At the St Ives Bay Away Resorts site you can enjoy breathtaking sea views. There is private access to a three-mile-long sandy beach perfect for swimming, sunbathing, walking and building sandcastles. Plus a resident surf school run independently by Shore Surf. The walk down to the beach is via sand dunes or a set of steps located below the pool and Sands bar. You can enjoy a meal at the Sands Bistro or a cooling drink in the bar. There is an indoor pool plus a children’s pool. Other facilities include an arcade, sports court, outdoor play area and a crazy golf course.

Whitecliff Bay – Isle of Wight
Address: Hillway Rd, Hillway, Bembridge PO35 5PL
Information – A short ferry ride away is the Isle of Wight and Away Resorts Whitecliff Bay holiday park. It is set in a stunning location overlooking a glorious golden sandy beach. From the park, there is direct access to the private beach. Behind the park, there is beautiful rolling countryside and woodland. Meals and drinks can be enjoyed in the Nab Bar which makes the best of the wonderful views.
For entertainment head to the Culber Club which is a great family-friendly space. Down on the beach, you can grab something to eat at the Beach cafe which is open seasonally. On-site there is also an indoor pool with a flume and an outdoor heated pool. All the family will love the crazy golf course and there is an adventure playground with a nautical theme for the kids.

Piperdam – Scotland
Address: Fowlis, Dundee DD2 5LP
Information – Set within 650 acres of countryside is Piperdam Holiday Park. It offers a host of exciting activities amongst a site full of stunning scenery. On-site accommodation includes a range of lodges some with hot tubs and pet-friendly lodges. For children, there is a soft play and cafe area. Kids will love the fairy trail around the resort with cute fairy house signs. Family soft archery is a great activity for youngsters plus they can learn to ride a balance bike and there are indoor segway sessions for older children and their adults. Other activities include crazy golf, foot golf, tennis, swimming, golf and bike hire. For adults, there is a gym, spa and wellness centre.

Retallack Resort and Spa – Cornwall
Address: Winnard’s Perch, St Columb Major, Saint Columb TR9 6DE
Information – Located in the picturesque Cornwall countryside is Retallack Resort and Spa. There is some stunning on-site accommodation plus some fun activities. You can cook your own meal or eat in the Lookout Bar or the Beach Cafe. For children, there is a fun adventure playground and all the family can spend time in the indoor swimming pool.
Adults can unwind at the health club and ESYA spa. The most unique facility at Retallack is the FlowRider. This is an all-year-round surf simulator with a minimum age of 8 years. Other watersports include wakeboarding and there is a large inflatable aqua park.

Golden Sands Holiday Park – North Wales

Information – With a fabulous beachfront setting Golden Sands is located close to the town of Rhyl. For food and drinks, there is the Sandpiper Restaurant plus a couple of bars. All the family will love the indoor pool and the arcade full of a variety of games and machines. Outdoors there is an adventure playground and a sports court for football, tennis or basketball. Plus of course, you have access to a wonderful sandy beach. There is plenty of pet and family-friendly accommodation some of which have hot tubs.

The Bay Filey – North Yorkshire
Address: 1 Moor Rd, Primrose Valley, Filey YO14 9GA
Information – For an award-winning holiday resort located on the North Yorkshire coast look no further than The Bay Filey. Located close to Filey and right between Scarborough and Bridlington it is a great base for exploring the local area. Plus the North Yorkshire Moors are close by. This site is a bit different to all the others on this list as it is more like holidaying at a posh housing estate. There are stylish beach houses, beach-themed lodges and stylish holiday cottages.
On-site there are a couple of places serving food and drinks plus there is a shop for your holiday essentials. The Bay also has an indoor swimming pool, a tennis court and an adventure playground. Adults will love the gym, sauna and steam room. There are some wonderful sandy beaches just a short drive away plus you can walk down to the beach next to the site.
