There are a number of excellent ski resorts around the world and many of them are family-friendly, some more so than others. It’s hard to decide where to visit to find the best facilities and resorts that suit people of all ages. We have a number of posts on our website to help make choosing your next or even first ski holiday easier. We also plan to add further posts in the future.
So where to start? Let’s start close to home in Europe. We take a look at some of the top-rated resorts for families across Europe. There is a brief rundown of each resort plus a few top-rated hotels where you can stay. This includes hotels and apartment buildings so you can decide between self-catering and a range of boarding options. We also take a look at the different facilities at each place you can stay including some excellent swimming pools and spas.
Across Europe, there are also a number of ski-in and ski-out resorts that again are great for families. We look at the best resorts where hotels are located right next to a lift or a piste so you can ski to and from the door. Or within 50 metres of it so long as there is decent snow on the ground. Ski-in Ski-Out hotels are very convenient, especially for families as many have gentler green and/or blue runs.
France is one of the closest destinations to the UK for great skiing. It is also a great country for families to visit who are completely new to skiing. There are some excellent ski resorts for first-time skiers. We have narrowed it down to the best places for beginners to learn.
