My son is obsessed with pumpkins so I have been busy compiling a list of places to go pumpkin picking in Yorkshire. When he was little he even used to take a mini pumpkin to bed with him. Nowadays, he insists on keeping them until they really can’t be kept any longer.
Top tip for visiting a pumpkin patch in Yorkshire – take your wellies and your waterproof coats.
It may also be an idea to check with the attraction that everything is as advertised the day before you visit.
Balloon Tree – Pick Your Own – North Yorkshire
Pumpkins in all shapes and sizes are available from The Balloon Tree Farm. No need to book, just come along and grab a wheelbarrow.
When? From the end of September throughout the entire month of October, our Pumpkin patch is filled with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, just waiting to be picked by you! Booking/how much – They don’t charge admission to the pumpkin patch, you just pay for what you pick. If you wish to visit the farm animals, activities, maize maze and carving barn there is a small charge per person. Under 2s are free.

Cannon Hall Farm – Pumpkin Picking – South Yorkshire
Cannon Hall Farm’s incredible pumpkin patch is returning this October – and is full of instagrammable family moments and a cheaper entry ticket. The patch – which was voted the no 1 patch to visit in the UK in a study by Austen and Blake – sees almost 10,000 pumpkins available for visitors to pick. And with a flat rate of £3 per pumpkin, no matter the size, you can be sure you won’t be caught out by any unexpected charges. PYO pumpkins in the Halloween Season. We accept both cash and cards. Pumpkins are priced according to size (Approx £1 – £7+). Suitable footwear for a field ie. Wellies. REMEMBER YOUR CUTTERS OR SCISSORS. PLEASE NOTE- we will not be supplying these on-site. Kemps Farm at Horsforth – Pick Your Own – West Yorkshire
Their annual pumpkin picking on selected dates up to Halloween. It is recommended that you prebook on their website. With over 85 thousand pumpkins planted this year and lots of different varieties to choose from, whether you wish your pumpkin mini, regular or even jumbo, white, pink, blue, yellow or of course orange the choice is yours.
