I had heard a lot of people rave about the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue. It is one of the reasons why we stayed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins.

Pricing – Where we sat for the Hoop De Doo Musical Revue

There are 3 types of pricing for the show. Category 1 is the main floor, Category 2 is at the back of the main floor and centre balcony and Category 3 is for the balcony left and right of the main floor. We booked Category 2 which was priced at $69.00 per adult and $40.00 for our 4-year-old (ages 3-10).

Category 1 is the most expensive and Category 3 is the cheapest. With Category 2 you don’t know if you will end up on the floor or balcony. We were down on the floor and although the view was a little restricted at times we still felt a part of everything.

Where is the Hoop De Doo?

The Hoop De Doo Revue is in Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. It is just a short walk from the boat launch. If you are visiting from the Magic Kingdom you can take the courtesy boat over to Fort Wilderness. For those staying at The Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge, there is a smaller courtesy boat.

If you are visiting from another hotel your best bet is to get a courtesy bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the courtesy boat over. If you try to get there just using buses it could take forever as the bus stops at Fort Wilderness are a long way from Pioneer Hall. There are plenty of golf cart spaces next to Pioneer Hall.

If you are driving in you also have to park up near the bus stopped at the main entrance and then get a courtesy bus down as it’s a long way!

When you arrive you will need to check in with people outside of the main entrance. It is a 2-hour show and they are on a tight turnaround as most nights they have 3 shows. (4 pm, 6:15 pm and 8:30 pm).

If you arrive too early and you have children with you there is the beach area and a large playground not too far from the hall.

Hoop De Doo Revue | Review of the Best Disney Evening Entertainment

I am calling it the best Disney evening entertainment because I have yet to come across someone who didn’t enjoy it. My husband enjoyed it so much he said that he’d happily go every night! The food was tasty and the entertainment was equally as good. Our son talked about it for many days after.

We entered the hall promptly and we had to show our ticket, which we’d been given outside, to the servers. The table was a good size for the 3 of us and best of all our chairs swivelled. This was a great touch as the performers end up everywhere and anywhere so if you need to turn to see them you don’t have to move your chair or strain your neck. Great fun for a four-year-old!

There are a lot of waiters/servers so you will experience fabulous service. What’s more, gratuity is included in the ticket price so you don’t have to tip them later if you don’t want to. I’m not sure how many tables ours served but he felt like our own personal accisotret.com server. Whenever our drinks were empty he’d bring another without us even asking.

A lot of drinks are included. There are sodas, hot and cold chocolate milk, wine, sangria and beer (all served in a lovely big jam jar). You can purchase other drinks but why bother? They do require ID for those ages 21 and over. Luckily at over 40, we weren’t asked for ours (as we hadn’t brought any).

When we sat down there was already a salad waiting for us, which already had dressing on. Plus cornbread – or cake if you ask Jamie. He was the only one who had a piece and I think he’d have eaten the whole thing had we let him. I enjoyed the salad.

Mark was enjoying the constant top-up of his wine! You start eating the starter in relative peace as the performers had not yet entered the room. Once you’ve eaten and settled in they arrive in the room. You can’t miss them as they walk in via the tables.

There was salad and cornbread to start

They put on a fabulous Wild West-themed show. A lot of the jokes were a bit beyond our Britishness. They had a lot of people howling with laughter. Jamie pretended he got the jokes and was laughing away, although maybe he got them and we didn’t. The parts we did understand were very amusing. It was a really smooth and slick performance.

They sang plenty of songs and the audience was often encouraged to join in, especially when they were finding out where everyone was from. At one point they even had some of the audience up on the stage who were all very good in their given roles. We were soon foot stomping and clapping with a big smile on our faces.

The best thing was that when we were eating they weren’t performing. This was a really good idea as you never felt like you were missing out. The main course was brought out in buckets that were ceremonially and very loudly banged on the table. There was so much food.

Although there were only 3 of us we seemed to get portions for four. The food was fabulous. There was a bucket of wings and ribs, mashed potato, beans and sweetcorn. We devoured as much of it as we could, probably too much as it was just so good. We struggled to eat what we had been given and our waiter kept appearing keen to bring us more. It really was an eat-and-drink-all-you-can event.

Dessert was a big highlight for us. We were brought a massive strawberry shortcake which was brought to us by our now-singing waiter. It was fabulous. There was cake, strawberries and cream. We were so full but we managed to make a very large dent in it.

After dessert, each table is handed a washboard to play on. Mark commandeered this and left Jamie and I with our hands on our ears. What a racket! But oh what fun.

If you can find the time to go please do. We loved it. Fabulous entertainment and excellent food.

If you want to see what our view from level 2 floor was like please watch my video below. I didn’t use a zoom lens. It also gives you an idea of what to expect.
