The Cairngorms National Park should be high up on everyone’s travel bucket list. It is a picturesque and mountainous region in the eastern area of the Highlands of Scotland. With plenty of opportunities for getting out and about walking and exploring it is essential to have luxurious accommodation to return to at the end of the day. We have found the perfect luxury house for that and it is perfect for large group accommodation so all the family, young and old, can come too.

Muckrach is a lovingly restored Victorian Shooting Lodge that features, would you believe it, eleven uniquely designed en-suite bedrooms. Plus there is a piano bar for chilling out, a library so you can take time out to read and a snug.
Outdoors there is a terrace and a hot tub perfect for a relaxing family holiday. You may want to schedule a few days in especially for days spent at the house.
I am sure the photos below will do more than enough justice in showing you how wonderful this house is. But let me tell you a bit more about it. If you want to eat your meals together there is a large bright conservatory. It’s also the perfect room to enjoy a morning coffee looking out over the grounds.
In the kitchen, there is everything you need. You can wow your family with a home-cooked meal or you could arrange your own private chef to come and cook for you so you can spend even more time relaxing and spending time with your guests.
In the piano bar there is a mirror TV to impress you all and an integrated music system that will help you set the right mood for the occasion. If peace and quiet is more your thing then head to the snug or the library. These have been sumptuously furnished in rich reds and blues and they are perfect for cuddling up in the evening in front of the cosy log burner.
The eleven bedrooms all offer the ultimate in luxury and comfort. You will certainly know that you are in the Highlands of Scotland as each has been uniquely designed in a contemporary Scottish style. The en-suite bathrooms are styled with Porcelnosa tiles, rainfall showers and have white fluffy towels.
Outdoors you can enjoy stunning views of the local scenery and you may even spot one of their resident highland cows. The house is set in acres of pastureland and it is a stunning location to enjoy spending time outdoors. On a clear night the stars are simply wonderous.
Close to the terrace, you will find the hot tub. This is constantly maintained to the optimum temperature so it’s perfect all year round. So what are you waiting for? Now is the time to book your next adventure.
Things to do in the Scottish Highlands
Their location within the park means you can enjoy the rugged landscape and nearby outdoor adventures. You could enjoy a walk while taking in some spectacular views, go skiing in the winter season, or go fishing or swimming.
The Cairngorms National Park is the largest in the UK with thriving wildlife and nearby towns you can explore. The nearby Cairngorm Mountain is a ski and snowboard station with a funicular railway, lifts, floodlit slopes and tubing on a dry slope.
You can meet the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd at the local centre of the same name. Here you can feed and stroke the UK’s only wild reindeer herd. In the Rothiemurchus Estate, there are outdoor activities on offer such as cycling, a high-ropes course, quad treks, deer safari, pony trekking and more.
Also nearby is the Strathspey railway which is a 10-mile-long heritage railway from Aviemore to Broomhill via Boat of Garten and the popular family-friendly attraction the Highland Wildlife Park. This is a 260-acre safari park and zoo with over 300 animals. oo and is home to a variety of animals found in present-day Scotland. A visit starts with a drive around the main reserve in your car and you then move on to a walk-around area.
