Blenheim Palace is located in Woodstock near Oxford. The palace is a world heritage site and the gardens were designed by Capability Brown with over 2,000 acres of grounds. It has a strong connection to Sir Winston Churchill and his grave is not far from the palace.

What can you do at Blenheim Palace?

You can go on a guided tour of the staterooms and finish the tour at the Churchill Exhibition. The tours also often include rooms not open to the general public. Or you can guide yourselves around the house. It is extremely opulent and full of large tapestries and paintings. There are some very grand fireplaces and the entrance hall is a sight to behold.

The grounds have many different places to explore. There are many treasures such as a secret garden, Churchill Memorial garden, a rose garden and many statues. At weekends you can book a buggy tour for just £3.50 per adult and £2.50 for a child you can be driven around the grounds. There are trails around the grounds which can be downloaded in advance.

There is a train that takes you to the walled garden which usually departs on the hour and every half hour from near the palace entrance which costs £1 pp. In this area, there is a maze, a butterfly house and a fantastic new play area.

They have recently opened a brand new adventure play area. It is a series of immersive interconnecting zones with secret chambers, clamber nets, tunnels, slides, rope bridges – and giant carrots! Covering a site larger than a football pitch, it celebrates the rich heritage of the 18th-century Baroque Palace, inspired by real-life features and there is a huge amount of water play and lots to discover.

Is there food and drink available?

There is a choice of four places to eat at Blenheim Palace including a pizza cafe. Most serve both hot and cold food and drinks. You can picnic in the grounds.

What are the main things to do?

What are the ticket prices?

An adult ticket for the palace, park and gardens is £35 online in advance, this is also an annual pass. Children aged 3-16 are £20 and children under 3 are free. You can purchase cheaper tickets just for the park and gardens. adventure Play tickets cost from £5 pp for a session and must be added to your entry tickets if you want to visit.

Is there parking?

There is free parking. There may be a charge to park on event days.

When are they open?

Blenheim Palace is open all year round except for Christmas Day and 1st January. For up-to-date opening times and dates please follow this link.

Dog friendly?

Dogs are permitted in some areas, but they are not permitted in the Palace itself, the main Courtyard play area or the Formal Gardens, with the exception of assistance dogs.
