Things to do at Tatton Park Farm review
The hugeHistorical, estate of Tatton Park in Knutsford, Cheshire is made up of an 18th Century mansion, 50 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, 1000 acres of deer park, a historic working farm, a medieval Old Hall and a large adventure playground.
What we love about Tatton is that you can pay separately for the different attractions, meaning that you can do as little or as much as you wish. Although a Totally Tatton ticket is the best value for money as it includes an annual pass and parking.
A visit to Tatton Park Farm teaches you how the farm produced food for the large estate from the late 18th century to the 1950s. The farm is still an authentic working farm and you can spend time looking at the original farm machinery and meeting all of the different animals, (some rare native breeds) such as horses, cows, donkeys, lambs, guinea pigs, chickens, goats and reindeer.
There are various farm-hands around to answer your questions about all of the animals,. You can also explore many of the farm buildings, which are dressed as they would have beenHistorical,ly. My children particularly enjoyed exploring Aunt Mary’s cottage, which is like stepping back in time to a traditional 1940s farm cottage, and we all had a go at ‘milking’ a wooden cow in the farm’s shippon where at certain times of the year the estate’s real dairy cows are milked. There is also a mill and you can go into the farm’s original slaughterhouse, although I must admit that we avoided that when we visited!
There is an indoor play barn at the farm but if the weather is fine you can go into the Woodland Play Trail and Den Building Zone. This is a lovely shaded spot which my children loved. Additionally, if you visit during high season or school holidays there are usually activities on offer such as food demonstrations, storytelling, animal talks and more.
When you walk back to your car, there is a large adventure play area next to the car park which is very well equipped. You can then decide whether you want to go back home or perhaps explore more of what the Tatton Park estate has to offer!

Is there food and drink available?
There isn’t a specific café or restaurant at Tatton Park Farm but you can eat at The Stables restaurant, the Tuck Shop or the Gardener’s Tea Room which are all located in the Stableyard.
What are the main things to do?
Farm park with lots of animals, and people on hand to teach you about farming. Plus farm buildings, an indoor play barn, woodland play trail and den building. There are toilets and places on the estate to eat. You can also visit the rest of the estate and a large adventure play area.
What are the ticket prices?
*Mid-rangeu003cbru003ePrices are subject to change and/or discounts online. *Mid-range. An adult ticket is £8, £6 for a child and £21 for a family. A Totally Tatton ticket costs £14 for an adult and £8 for a child aged 4-15.
