Nottingham is one of my favourite cities in the UK. I even lived there for a few years of my life. The centre itself is relatively compact and there’s a lot of history to it including a castle and the oldest Inn in England, Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem.

They are not lacking cinemas in Nottingham. There is:
Cineworld Nottingham, Showcase Cinema De Lux, Broadway Cinema and Savoy Cinema.

Climbing Centres Nottingham and Outskirts

Average time of visit for each – 1-2 hours. Indoors

Clip n’ Climb – The Clip ‘n Climb experience includes a 30-minute introduction, harness fitting and safety briefing then a full 55 minutes of climbing. At Clip ‘n Climb, we make your whole experience as smooth as possible, from booking to climbing it’ll be a breeze.

Depot Climbing – Kids – Climbing is a fantastic way for children to exercise along with having a great time and making new friends. Here at the Depot Nottingham, we run great clubs for our younger climbers. All abilities are catered for and we provide all the necessary climbing equipment. From absolute beginners, through to those wanting to compete at the highest standard; we have expert tuition on hand.

Nottingham Climbing Centre – Kids climbing – You can kick off with a Taster Session to see how you take to climbing (Little Monsters 5-7 years, Varmints 7-16 years), Then if you wish, sign up after this for the NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) programme, which earns you Certificates of Achievement and takes you through from first steps to fully competent.

Mr Mulligan’s Pirate Golf – Outskirts

Average time of visit – 1-2 hours. Outdoors
Explore the lost seas me hearty, at Mr Mulligans, Nottingham. Whether you are looking for a fun family day out or a spectacular children’s birthday, this outdoor venue is the perfect setting. Fantastic clubhouse bar and restaurant facilities extend the experience even further. 18-hole adventure golf, driving range and pitch and putt.

National Ice Centre / Motorpoint Arena

Average time of visit 1-2 hours. Indoors
The National Ice Centre is the place to join in with ice skating, perhaps join in with ice skating lessons and they also have a special tots zone in the centre for younger children to learn to skate. Also in this building, you will find the Motorpoint Arena. This is home to some great annual events including WWE and Disney on Ice.

National Justice Museum and City of Caves

Average time of visit – 2+ hours. Indoors
The National Justice Museum is housed in Nottinghamshire’s Grade II* listed old Shire Hall and County Gaol. The museum uses original courtrooms, dungeons and prison cells, along with a number of more contemporary galleries to exhibit collections relating to justice, the law, crime and punishment in a fun and interactive way. When visiting the museum you may also meet a variety of colourful historical characters with different stories of justice to tell

Plus there is a new entrance to the caves underneath Nottingham. City of Caves is part of a hidden maze of over 500 original sandstone caves underneath the streets of Nottingham dating back to the Dark Ages. Investigate the social history of the caves and learn more about the events that once happened inside these fascinating underground dwellings. As part of your visit, you will see the only medieval underground tannery in the country, head to the Anderson air-raid shelter where thousands of people sought refuge during WWII and explore the remnants of Drury Hill Victorian slums.

Nottingham Castle

Average time of visit – 2 hours. Indoors & Outdoors
Within the grounds is a medieval-themed adventure playground. This is great fun for all ages. Inside the castle, you can relive some of Robin Hood’s most daring adventures. Indoors there are storytelling screens, you can train with Robin’s Merrie Band in the coach-arm gaming spaces and see what life was like in a medieval town via their innovative and interactive gaming tables. Quasar Elite, Lasar Tag

Average time of visit – 1-2 hours. Indoors
Get the adrenaline pumping! Action-adventure battles take place in our huge multi-level combat arena, with lights, music, swirling smoke, and plenty of maze and sniper screens to pursue your opponents. For ages 8 and over.

Stonebridge City Farm

Average time of visit – 1 hour. Outdoors
Free to visit. Stonebridge City Farm is an urban farm in St Ann’s, Nottingham. It is relatively small in size. They have animals that you can feed, gardens to walk around plus a play area, cafe and shop. Donations are welcome.

Summertime beach in Old Market Square

Average time of visit – 1 hour. Outdoors
Every summer a pop-up beach comes to Old Market Square in the heart of Nottingham. There are also fountains that kids can play in so be sure to take a change of clothes! It’s there from mid-July until the start of September. Expect “a number of traditional rides and games as well as beach BBQs and a bar catering for all ages. This year’s entertainment schedule is packed full of live music from local bands and artists, movie nights under the stars, beach volleyball tournaments and Just Ben hosting Variety on the Beach.

Ten Pin Bowling Nottingham

Tenpin Nottingham – Open early until late, you’re sure to find fun on the lanes at Tenpin Nottingham. While here, why not go for a game of pool on the UK or American pool tables or play on the wide selection of arcades? We also have laser tag at Tenpin Nottingham where you can go to combat in the Sector 7 laser arena against your enemies.

Nottingham Bowl – Family chain bowling facility with computerised scoring, a licensed bar, a diner and pool tables.

Theatre Royal

The Theatre Royal is located in the heart of the centre. It is a great theatre and has many family-friendly shows throughout the year. There is a yearly pantomime plus past events including Ben and Holly, Peppa Pig, the Gruffalo and more. It is an old traditional theatre with four levels and was first opened in 1865.
