Queen's Park Chesterfield

Queen’s Park in Chesterfield, Derbyshire is situated in the town centre and it was established for Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1887, it is mostly famous for its county cricket ground.

Things to do at Queen’s Park Chesterfield

In the early days, the park was a popular venue for rallies and demonstrations. Today the park has been restored to its former Victorian style and there is a lake and a miniature railway as well as playing facilities for younger visitors. The miniature train runs from Easter Holidays through to the October half term. All operating days are weather permitting.

The park also has a bandstand where music is played on some Sunday afternoons during the summer. The first County Cricket match was held at the cricket ground here between Derbyshire and Surrey.
