Go Ape Matfen
Go Ape at Matfen, Tyne and Wear has been built within the grounds of a Country House Hotel. It is nestled within one of the UK’s most unspoilt areas of natural beauty located just 15 miles west of Newcastle. The site is home to a Treetop Challenge and Axe Throwing
Treetop Challenge – The course is one of the few Go Apes to be built within deciduous trees and has a mixed woodland scenery that will seem different with each visit. You can try out Stirrups one of the more extreme obstacles and there is even a replica Tyne Bridge. Plus a half trapeze, Tarzan Swings, Skateboard zip and more. The challenge takes 2 to 3 hours to navigate your way around. There is a minimum age of 10 years and a minimum height of 1.4m.
Axe Throwing – This is a new group adventure where you can get back to your roots and channel your inner warrior with an hour of stress-busting Axe throwing. This is only for the more grown-up visitors as there is a minimum age limit of 16.
Duration times including safety briefings. Once you’ve had your treetop fun why not check out the local area? The hall itself has a 27-hole golf course and there is the picturesque village of Matfen nearby with a village green, stream and a pub.
