Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park

The Birmingham Wildlife Conservation Park is home to a unique collection of animals, from around the world. The park is run by Birmingham City Council and it is located close to the city centre of Birmingham in the West Midlands. The park was previously known as Birmingham Zoo and it is a relatively small zoo on the edge of Cannon Hill Park. The zoo was first opened in 1964 and the site was once part of a 16th-century fulling mill.

Animals at the park include lemurs, meerkats, reptiles, otters, birds, wallabies and a large collection of monkeys. Some of their animals are endangered in the wild and the park plays an important role in the conservation of these species. Other animals, at the park include lynxes, porcupines, armadillos, cranes and a sloth. There is a good on-site play area with a range of things to play on.
