Charlecote Park

Charlecote Park

Charlecote Park is a National Trust property in Wellesbourne, near Warwick, Warwickshire. It is a grand 16th-century country house surrounded by its own deer park and parkland.

You can visit and explore the house at Charlecote. It is a Grade 1 listed building that was built in 1558. The great hall has a barrel-vaulted ceiling painted to look like timber. The house has many family portraits and rooms with richly coloured wallpaper.

Their riverside setting is a haven for wildlife spotters, if you’re patient you may even spot a kingfisher. There is a parkland walk you can download from their website which is an easy walk of around an hour. The parkland is even home to some spotty sheep. Seeing their fallow deer roaming the parkland is always a special part of any visit. Please keep your distance from them as they can be easily spooked.
