Stratford Butterfly Farm

Stratford Butterfly Farm

The Butterfly Farm is conveniently located within the Stratford town centre. If you head for the water’s edge near the RSC there is a long stone bridge that crosses the river. If you walk over this and keep going the Butterfly Farm is just a short walk on from there.

Stratford Butterfly Farm Review

This is not the kind of place that you simply walk around. It’s the kind of place where you need to take some time to just stand or sit. There are benches around the place to sit and watch and chill out. There’s also a lovely garden area before you even enter the building.

It is rather warm in the butterfly farm so I recommend that you take a bottle of water around with you. If the weather isn’t too kind to you during your visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon then this is the perfect place to visit. You visit what is essentially one massive greenhouse. Immediately we noticed just how many butterflies were flying around. We have been in a lot of butterfly houses and none of them has had anywhere near the number of butterflies that this place has. There must have been thousands and there are so many different kinds to spot.

Because there are so many butterflies you can expect many to land on you. Kids will love this but make sure they don’t touch their wings as the grease from our hands can destroy their wings. As you move around the greenhouse you follow pretty pathways where you also need to be careful not to stand on any butterflies. Also as you walk around keep your eye on the brick walls for reptiles and down on the ground for some super mini and cute birds. There are also Mayan-type artefacts and statues on display throughout. The waterfall in there is really lovely.
