Brooklands Museum
Museum Overview
The Brooklands Museum is a motoring and aviation museum that occupies part of the former Brooklands motor-racing track in Weybridge, Surrey. At the museum, you can discover the pioneers of speed, flight and adventure at the birthplace of British Motorsport. It is even home to Concorde.
There is so much to see and learn at Brooklands. Some of the highlights include a Loch Ness Wellington bomber in their Aircraft factory. The Factory Floor is designed to evoke an authentic factory atmosphere and it is packed full of hands-on activities. There are a few other aircraft to see in here including a cockpit section.
Another display gallery is the Flight Shed. Here there is an exhibition that tells the stories of the pilots and navigators who flew the aircraft. There are a few complete aircraft on display including the museum’s Hawker Hurricane. You can sit in the pilot’s seat of the Hawker Hunter and Harrier, have a go at deciphering Morse Code and step inside the Vickers Wellington walkthrough.
One of the main draws for visitors is being able to see inside Concorde. The Concorde Experience runs every day the museum is open and requires museum admission tickets to be purchased. You will enter into the life of the jet-set as their Concorde Crew guide you under the wings and through the cabin of the world’s fastest aircraft, introducing you to the thrills and extravagance of a Concorde flight. You must prebook on a Concorde tour for your visit. Tours last just under half an hour. For kids, there is a museum trail that you can pick up from reception when you arrive.
