Things to do at Audley End House and Gardens

The stately home is spectacular and it is set in spacious grounds. The interiors are opulent with an impressive great hall, state apartments and an 18th-century gothic-style chapel. You can even take a seat and relax in the library or play on their piano. You can also step back in time and experience a world of hierarchy, discipline and long hours in the 1880s service wing and coal gallery. Below stairs, you will be immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian servent’s daily routine. You can even meet costumed interpreters on special weekends from May to September.

There are horses to say hello to over at the stable block including an interactive exhibition. The gardens were designed by Capability Brown with formal gardens and extensive views. There are some elegant garden buildings to find and a walled kitchen garden. There is a fun play area for the kids with its very own mansion to climb and wooden horses to ride. You can also enjoy a walk in the grounds.
