Adventure Island Essex

Adventure Island is a fun park in Southend-On-Sea in Essex. The park itself is free to visit and walk around. There are a number of rides which you can purchase wristbands to ride. The theme park is at the north end of the southern pier and it has been a theme park since 1976.

You can purchase a flexible ride band and ride the rides that suit you and your family. If you pre-book online you can save 25% on your ride band. Some of the rides have height restrictions. Blue rides are the more extreme rides with 10 in total. These include water rides, loop rollercoaster, skyrides and more. You need to be 1.2 metres or taller to ride these.

Green rides are for those between 1m and 1.2m and taller. These 11 rides are mostly extreme and include mini rollercoasters, a pirate ship, a spooky ride and lots of rides with height and spin. The red riders are for the younger visitor, children under 1m must be accompanied by an adult. There are 15 rides and attractions including carousels, wheel, train, fun house, helter skelter, cars and much more. Some of the rides are indoors along with 6 storeys of soft play and arcades.

Other attractions include sealife adventure with fish, meerkats and penguins. Plus adventure golf, Formula Al Karting and dodgems. (there is an additional charge but you can purchase discounted tickets with your wristband, or you can upgrade your ticket).

There is a great choice of places to purchase food and drink including kiosks, sit down restaurants and cafes. They have designated picnic areas.

What are the ticket prices?

Entrance is free if you aren’t riding on any of the rides. Otherwise, a wristband costs around £20-32 or £15-22.50 if purchased online in advance. Yearly passes are available.
