Alter Rock is an indoor climbing centre for all ages and abilities with taster sessions, a club and family activities located in Derby, Derbyshire.

Things to do at Alter Rock Indoor Climbing Centre

The centre leads the way for people to learn climbing skills in the area. There are over 600 square metres of graded climbing walls and bouldering problems. You can progress from complete beginner to expert. They have other fun activities to suit younger children such as swinging along the Air Walk aerial assault course or crawling through the Labyrinth cave.

There are experienced teachers to help you with your climbing skills. The Air Walk is a swinging obstacle course. There is a series of obstacles suspended from the roof with a zig-zag walk, hanging logs, cross boards, rope loops and more.

The Labyrinth cave is a maze of tunnels hidden inside their climbing walls. You are given a head torch and you then have to crawl your way out again. The centre can also host your child’s birthday party. Children as young as four can take part in some of the activities including the climbing walls and cave tunnels.
