Gypsy Wood Family Park

Gypsy Wood Family Park

Gypsy Wood Park is a unique North Wales attraction that all the family will love. There are loads of things to see and do at the outdoor park in the foothills of Snowdonia.

What is there to do at Gypsy Wood Family Park?

Take your wellies to explore and squelch through the wetlands, meet all the different animals, who you’ll find up in the paddocks, find the fairies and meet the fairy queen, make a wish, hop on Woody’s train, and enjoy one of the fabulous adventure play areas; just some of the events, and attractions available.

My boys enjoyed the duck race attraction the most, such a simple idea using a water pump and rubber ducks but they loved it and kept returning for another go. It was great exercise too! Another hit was the real mini car that you can paint! Again, it’s not your average day out!

The site itself is quite spread out and gives you plenty of time to explore. Entry to Gypsy Wood includes one ride on Woody’s train but you can buy additional tickets from reception. The train runs throughout the day but queues do build up during the peak season. I don’t usually give the toilet facilities their own paragraph in a review but these are no ordinary toilets! Gypsy Wood has award-winning toilets and they are just beautiful. Yet another surprise to discover. They have won Loo of the Year 2020.

Dress for the weather as there aren’t many indoor areas at Gypsy Wood. I would say it is most suited to younger children under 10 and you could easily spend a full day there. We arrived 30 minutes after opening and left around 30 mins before they closed, and I had to drag the boys out. Other attractions include a magical maze, a quarry big dig, trampolines, a magical tree house and magnetic fishing. Plus tunnels, didi cars, willow and wetland walk, fairy hunt, gipsy caravans and goat racing (peak season).
