Amerton Farm

Amerton Farm first opened its doors to the general public in 1984. The business was started by Anne Williams, who sold cream and eggs from the back door of the farmhouse, before opening the Tea Room which was then quickly followed by other enterprises. The farm was then taken over by Anne’s son Paul who continued to develop the site which is now owned by Eunice Finney.

What is there to do Amerton Farm?

Amerton Farm provides an enjoyable experience for all the family, offering children’s fun, retail, and fine Staffordshire food along with many other attractions for you to enjoy.

Made up of 4 ‘zones’ Amerton is a spacious site consisting of the main building which is home to giftware, farm shop and restaurant. The farm courtyard is self explanatory, here you will find a small selection of animals, and a tractor to play on. The outdoor areas are home to giant bouncy pillows, a woodland village, tractor rides, animal paddocks, sand pit and even a miniature railway. And finally, there is the famous Billy’s Barn which houses one of the best wooden indoor play areas we have been to.

My boys love Billy’s Barn, the wooden interconnecting buildings are a fabulous place to let your little ones run off some steam while you enjoy a hot drink from the barn café. The café also serves hot and cold food that is more geared towards young families so think nuggets, hotdogs, picnic boxes and the like. But, if you are looking for a more sophisticated lunch then the restaurant in the main building has you covered. I’ve enjoyed several delicious meals from here, and all products are locally sourced too.

Baby’s are also well catered for, with ample highchairs available, changing facilities and a specially designed gentle sensory area within Billy’s Barn for them to enjoy. Amerton is also home to lots of small independent businesses that offer everything from celebration cakes to pottery painting workshops, so there’s plenty for adults too. I usually come home with some yummy treats! Throughout the year, Eunice and the team at Amerton hold special events, which never disappoint. We have experienced both the Christmas Twilight adventure and Halloween Spooktacular and had an amazing time.
