Sewerby Hall and Gardens

Sewerby Hall and Gardens

Sewerby Hall and gardens sit high on a cliff by the sea just a short distance away from Bridlington, East Yorkshire. There is a free, car park at Sewerby Hall but you can also take the seasonal, land train up there from outside Bridlington Leisure Centre. It’s a lovely family-friendly day out.

What is there to do at Sewerby Hall and Gardens?

There is a zoo at Sewerby Hall. The zoo is actually more like a small wildlife park. It is home to birds, penguins, lemurs, goats, sheep, racoon dogs and a few other species of animal. The highlight is the penguins as they love standing right by the wall to look at you.

There is also a play area with swings, things to climb on, slides and a few other pieces of play equipment. The hall itself has activity trails for kids and there are lots of rooms to look around. Plus a new play area for older children in the woodland. Sewerby Hall has some beautiful gardens with a walled garden. There is also a putting green with 18 holes for a small donation and a woodland walk.

You can also look around the house. Quite a lot of the rooms are set out how they would have looked in the past and others have exhibitions in with interactive elements in most. We love the room where you can watch a video of Bridlington from the 1970s. It has certainly changed over the years. There is also a playroom for the kids with toys from the past including a magnificent doll house.
