With pretty much year-round sunshine Mexico is home to a great number of hotels. Many of them offer great all-inclusive packages and have some excellent facilities. We love many of the hotel pools in Mexico and many of the hotels have swim-up rooms. This is great for families as you can access a pool right from your terrace. Perfect for any holidays with kids! The weather tends to sit around 24-25oC in winter and is around 28oC for pretty much the rest of the year.
We love the Mexico weather as it’s rarely scorching hot and the rain in the summer can be rather refreshing. We take a look at some of Mexico’s best family-friendly hotels with swim-up families. We especially love the movie-inspired Planet Hollywood Cancun hotel. It has some excellent facilities, especially the splash parks and lazy river. Planet Hollywood Cancun an Autograph All Inclusive Resort

Hotel Information – On Cancun’s coast in Mexico is the movie-inspired hotel Planet Hollywood Cancun. It is an all-inclusive resort with three huge pool areas, pirate-themed and Jurassic splash parks, a lazy river and more. The beach is also a great place to spend time with your kids. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to bars and restaurants! Kids will love the on-site club and there is some great evening entertainment.

Hotel Information – The stylish Margaritaville Beach Resort Riviera Cancun is a great family-friendly beachfront hotel. This hotel takes all-inclusive to another level and the lively Cancun and Playa Del Carmen are both around a 30-minute drive away. There are four pools to choose from, two of which are beachfront and one has its own swim-up bar. You will have four gourmet restaurants to choose from and six bars spread out around the grounds. Hotel Information – Recently opened in 2022 the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun is a popular hotel with families. It has an excellent waterpark with 14 waterslides plus a splash park and two lazy rivers. You will have 12 restaurants to choose from, 10 of which offer a la carte dining. If you upgrade to a Diamond Club room you can access an exclusive beach area with bar service and an extra pool. There is a hotel-run kid’s club that is split into different age groups and evenings can be spent watching on-site entertainment. Also for the kids, there is a trampoline park. You can try out a number of watersports and take part in several activities throughout the day. Their luxury suites can include swim-up access and these suites sleep up to 4 people.

Hotel Information – Located between a sandy beach and a river is the Hotel Xcaret Mexico. The hotel has a few infinity pools, an indoor pool and a kid’s pool with a slide. There are also beaches along the river where you can paddle, kayak or paddleboard. Luckily you won’t go hungry here as there are 12 restaurants to choose from plus there are 8 bars.
For kids there is a club for ages 4-12 and also a Family club with a number of fun activities such as table football. The hotel has eight adventure parks with a wide range of activities. You can go zip-lining, explore a cave, go white water rafting, river kayaking and so much more. Their swim-up double rooms can sleep 4 people and they have a terrace that also has a whirlpool bath.

Hotel Information – The Generations Riviera Maya has a prime spot along a secluded stretch of white sand. Every room here comes with sea views as standard and you can even upgrade to a luxurious infinity pool suite. A huge pool runs the entire length of the hotel and kids have their own mini splash pool with child-sized sunbeds. In the evening you can expect a weekly programme of live music and themed parties. In the daytime, your children can join in with the kid’s club which is for 4-12 year olds. The hotel has two pools, one for relaxing and the other for weekly pool activities. Kids will love the fun waterpark with six waterslides, two giant tipping buckets and an outdoor splash park. Food-wise you are spoilt for choice with eight dining spots including six a la carte restaurants.

Hotel Information – The beachfront Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun has five pools and every single room comes with a whirlpool bath. There is a splash pool and a pool with a waterslide, especially for children. One of the pools is just for adults and another is for guests staying in the premium rooms. There are six restaurants at this resort including four a la carte restaurants where you can dine as many times as you like as part of your all-inclusive package.
For children aged 4-12, there is a supervised kid’s club and in the evening you can expect magic and musical shows. Hotel Information – With themed restaurants, 8 pools and grounds full of wildlife the Grand Riviera Princess Hotel is great for families. They also have four kids’ pools. If you stay in the Club 1-bedroom family room or the Swim-up Club 1-bedroom family room you also have access to a kids’ splash park. You will have nine restaurants and ten bars to choose from including a Fondue restaurant and a Mexican.
As well as a kid’s club for ages 4-12 the hotel also runs a kid’s club. Evening shows are staged in the hotel’s on-site theatre and there is a mini disco for the little ones. Other facilities include scuba diving lessons, pedalos, archery, a multi-sports court, tennis courts, snorkelling and more. Please be aware that for the swim-up rooms with kids, you need to book the swim-up club 1-bedroom family rooms.
