Portsmouth Museum and Art Gallery are located on Museum Road in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The museum is housed in a Grade II listed building and it features exciting and varied displays.

Inside you can take a walk through Portsmouth’s heritage, discover the world of Sherlock Holmes, see fascinating works of art, trace the history of Portsmouth FC and more. They also have an exciting new exhibition which showcases invaluable pieces of civic silver.

There are reconstructions of a 17th-century bedchamber, an 1871 dockyard worker’s kitchen and a Victorian parlour. Plus a 1930s kitchen and 1950s living room. In A Study in Sherlock, there is a range of interactive displays. There is also a free navigational trail which you can download to your smartphone or borrow an iPad from reception.
