Museum Overview
The Museum of Liverpool is located on the Waterfront in Liverpool, Merseyside. It tells the story of Liverpool its diverse history and its people.
Inside there are accessible and engaging exhibits which showcase Liverpool’s popular culture. There is an elevated railway gallery with a carriage that is fixed at the exact height of the Overhead railway which was once in Liverpool. The displays explore why the railway was eventually pulled down in the late 1950s and the legacy it left behind.
The Wondrous Place gallery explores Liverpool’s internationally recognised talent across music, sport, cinema and TV. This has some exciting new displays and immersive experiences. They also have visiting ticketed exhibitions.
Little Liverpool is a hands-on gallery, especially for children under the age of 6 to play and learn. It is crammed with fun activities and entry is free by ticket which can be collected on the day of your visit. Sessions last for 30 minutes. Children can sail mini boats, enjoy lots of hands-on fun and enjoy their multi-sensory pod.
