Railworld Wildlife Haven
Attraction Overview
Railworld Wildlife Haven is located in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. It is run by volunteers and it is a haven for nature with a model railway and other exhibits. It is located on a former coal storage yard which once served Peterborough Power Station and it was founded in 1985. The centre is open only on certain days.
There is a small collection of locomotives and railway memorabilia. The derelict yard has been transformed into an inner-city green space landscaped with ponds and waterfalls. This has increased biodiversity and habitat for the local wildlife.
The centre also has over 2,000 square feet of model railways. This has a range of locomotives including miniature steam trains. You can also spot Thomas and his friends out on one of their adventures.
