Plas Newydd House and Garden

Plas Newydd House and Garden

Plas Newydd is a historic house and garden run by the National Trust on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. The house was built in the 14th century, rebuilt in Victorian times and later remodelled in the 1930s.

It is an enchanting mansion that enjoys some spectacular views of Snowdonia. The Grade I listed landscape consists of 40 acres of garden and 129 acres of woodland and parkland. The gardens are located on the shores of the Menai Strait making it a hard location to beat.

In Dairy Wood you can have a go at building a den. If you follow the path from the visitor centre to the wood you will find an adventure playground. Close to here, there are some perfect den-making locations. You can also explore parts of the house which include some unfinished works of Rex Whistler plus his famous mural of a Mediterranean seaport.
