Aberystwyth South Beach

Things to do at Aberystwyth South Beach Review

Normally more of a town and gown beach, this beach is quieter than North Beach situated between the town’s castle ruin and its harbour.

Attractions / Entertainment – this is the beach to come to at sunset to watch the sun go down. At the end of the summer term, it’s the beach that students will sit on and light fires whilst chatting. Venture a few yards from the beach and you can see the sea from the castle ruins. Dolphins can be seen swimming close to the shore here, following the surfers and the paddleboarders as they make their way along the seaside.

Parking: As like North Beach, you’d be hard-pressed to find a parking space along the seafront. There is parking at the end near the harbour but again these fill up early and with a cost of £3.40 for 2 hours it is cheaper to use one of the longer pay and display car parks.

Food: With a small café and ice cream kiosk bang in the middle of South Beach. Or you could opt for a picnic.

Toilets: Paid toilets are available next to the Lifeboat station
