The museum was once the manor house for the extensive Abington estate. Its galleries chart the history and the development of Abington as it has developed from a medieval manor to a suburb of Northampton. People of all ages can explore the spaces and learn more about the people who have made Abington their home from the past to the present day.

There are military galleries which tell the story of the Northamptonshire Regiment and the Northamptonshire Yeomanry. They run events and activities for all ages including theatre, talks, walks, workshops and activities.
