Avenham and Miller Park
Avenham and Miller Park is a riverside park with a Japanese Water Garden and is located in Preston, Lancashire. It ranks amongst the finest examples of traditional Victorian parkland in the North West. The two parks are interlinked and are great places to explore.
The park was designed in the 1860s by Edward Milner and is probably one of the best-surviving examples of his work today. The park is created from a natural amphitheatre and the famous Japanese rock garden has a wide variety of unusual ornamental plants plus some beautiful water features.
There is an enjoyable riverside walk alongside the River Ribble plus the Derby and Belvedere walks with a number of features to be seen. A number of annual events are hosted throughout the year including music festivals, traditional Easter egg rolling and more. There is also a children’s play area.
