Things to do at Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest review

Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest is located near Goudhurst in Kent. It is a large forest maintained by Forestry England and it is an award-winning visitor attraction with something for everyone. It is open all year round and it is a great outdoor day out.

There are miles of family cycling and mountain biking trails and the pinetum is home to over 12,000 trees. There are three cycling trails plus 3 walking trails. Bike hire is available should you need it. The forest is also home to 4 orienteering trails and waymarked running trails. If you are after a bit of an adventure then Go Ape is for you.

Kids will love the Gruffalo Spotters trail using the new Gruffalo Spotter 2 app. You can also purchase fun trail activity packs although these aren’t necessary. Along the trail, you will have signs and creatures to spot. You can interact with all your favourite characters through augmented reality and real sculptures.

The forest is home to a fantastic play trail. There is so much to discover and play on. They have a shipwreck, a play village, spiders web and jungle drums. Plus an adventure trail, ant’s nest play, rope swing and a new puzzle forest with climbing frames and a slide. Make sure you pick up a map of the Play Trail on arrival or take a picture of the map in the car park. The play areas are shown on the forest map which is £2 from the visitor centre and bike shops.

The forest has been made more accessible with Trampers that you can hire. These are free, off-road mobility scooters. It is advised that you pre-book at least 2 weeks in advance.

There is a cafe serving hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to bring a picnic.

Forest with walking and cycling trails, Gruffalo Spotters Trail and a fantastic play trail with lots to play on along the way. There are toilets and a cafe.

What are the ticket prices?

Is there parking?

Parking costs from £10-14 for all-day parking. There is a discount if you arrive early or late.

When are they open?

Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest is open all year round except for Christmas Day. Opening times vary throughout the year.

Dog friendly?

Dogs are welcome on leads outdoors.
