Blackgang Chine
Blackgang Chine has plenty of things for the whole family. The oldest amusement park in the UK, it is home to a number of different themed lands such as a Pirate Cove, a Cowboy Town and even a dinosaur area with animatronics!
What is there to do at Blackgang Chine?
Set in a stunning cliff-top location, the views are incredible. I would recommend taking the site slowly and visiting every section, taking in the views as you do so – there is so much to explore for all different ages.
There are a number of different rides on site for varying age groups although the main audience would certainly be 12 and under for the majority of them. From the Cliffhanger roller coaster to the Waterforce water slide and even Snakes and Ladders, there really is something for everyone. As well as a selection of fun rides, there are various other parts of the park to enjoy and explore such as the Giant Bug Walk or the Musical Pet Shop.
I would wholeheartedly recommend visiting Pirate Cove – the Crossbones adventure Play Area is a particular favourite with ladders, rope netting and a pirate shooting gallery whilst Cowboy Town also provides a fun family experience – you can be the Sheriff or the outlaw of your own town – breaking into the bank, visiting the jail or even climbing into a stagecoach! There’s even a Tootin’ Tots play area for smaller children to explore with plenty of winding mines to crawl through.
There are plenty of different eateries at Blackgang Chine as well as a number of different gift shops dotted around the site to pick up any souvenirs you may like. A particular favourite would have to be the gift shop in Cowboy Town.
