Brinkburn Priory and Manor House
Last Updated on April 9, 2024 by Suzy McCullough
Brinkburn Priory and Manor House is an English Heritage property in Longframlington, near Morpeth in Northumberland. The priory was a medieval monastery and some parts still remain today. You can also visit the manor house. The house is mostly unfurnished but there is still plenty to explore and admire.
The priory is tucked away amongst woodland within a picturesque loop of the River Coquet. There is a 12th-century church that was restored in the mid-19th century. It is today one of the best examples of early Gothic architecture in Northumberland. There is a striking stained glass window and organ. Luckily the church is not a ruin and is a lovely place to look around.
