Museum Overview
Canterbury Roman Museum is located in Canterbury, Kent near the cathedral. It is Kent’s only Roman history museum and it offers a fascinating and family-friendly insight into life in Roman Britain.
Inside you can explore the remains of an original Roman Town House and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It has one of the UK’s only remaining in situ Roman pavement mosaics. You will be able to get closer to their collections and over 2,000 years of history.
There is silverware, mosaics, jewellery, the remains of a Roman under-floor heating system, glassware, pottery and more. They run a range of workshops including tours, meet the archaeology sessions and Roman everyday life object handling sessions.
