Central Cinema Torquay review
Located in Torquay, Devon is an independent cinema that is part of the Merlin Cinema Group. It is a 4 screen cinema located on the outskirts of the centre of the town. The cinema was originally opened in 1933 although the building originally opened back in 1878 as the Winter Gardens. They show the latest movies for young and old.
FIlms are generally shown in 2D at this location and as well as new releases they also show old classics, theatre shows, music concerts and more. They do also show some films in 3D. Look out for parent and baby performances where the lights stay on longer and the volume is a bit lower, plus subtitled performances for the hard of hearing and other performances with disabilities in mind.
Look out for special Mini Merlin performances where all tickets are just £2.50. You can also join their membership scheme where you can make savings on your cinema tickets plus a 10% discount on your food and drinks. At this cinema, there are hot and cold drinks on sale plus snacks and ice creams. They can even host your child’s birthday party. Private hire is also available.
