Devil's Bridge Falls

The Devil’s Bridge Falls are located near Pontarfynach in Ceredigion, mid-Wales. It is a famous tourist attraction located in the heart of the Cambrian mountains with a perilous-looking stone bridge viewpoint of a waterfall that plunges into a deep, wooded gorge.
The waterfalls have attracted visitors since the 18th Century including William Wordsworth who wrote about the “Torrent at the Devil’s Bridge”. Today you can view the falls via two different walks. There is a nature trail with waterfalls and the 3 bridges. This takes around 45 minutes and is a difficult walk with 675 steep uneven natural stone steps.
Families with younger children would be better off attempting the other trail, the Punchbowl. This includes the 3 bridges and has been recently extended to include a new seating area with views of the 3 bridges. This is a moderate walk with 220 slate steps. The steps lead down to a viewing point where you can see the water crashing against the worn-out rock. This is also where you can enjoy a good view of the full expanse of the 3 bridges that are built one on top of the other.
There is a level tarmac path in the new viewpoint area that is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs to be able to view the three bridges. This is open during school holidays or by prior arrangement.
