Museum Overview

The Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum is located on the Heathhall Industrial Estate near Dumfries. It is a small independent museum and they are passionate about the history of aviation and the local area.

The museum is based in the former control tower of the wartime RAF Dumfries. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits.

They have a great collection of aircraft including the Loch Doon Spitfire, a supersonic Lightning fighter and a wartime assault glider collection. There are dedicated displays on the Home Front, RAF Dumfries and the only dedicated Airborne Forces collection in Scotland.
