Erddig
Erddig is a National Trust property near Wrexham in North Wales. It is a Grade 1 listed property with the second-largest collection of items in the whole of the National Trust.
Things to do at Erddig
The estate features a 13.5-acre walled garden with an ever-changing look according to the season. For over 300 years visitors have been welcomed to explore the parkland at Erddig. The Yorkes didn’t want to hide their beautiful estate away.
The most unique feature is the Cup and Saucer waterfall that can still be seen today. It is a shallow circular stone basin with a cylindrical waterfall at its centre. The Erddig Clywedog riverside walk will take you past this wonderful structure. You can also enjoy a walk through woodland or through a meadow and on to Emes’ pleasure park.
There are many rooms full of fine furnishings that you can see in the house. Although some rooms have been altered many feature the fine furniture and furnishings that were in the house when it was habited. They often have discovery trails through the house for kids which are a great way to help them understand more about the house and all its treasures.
The Wolf’s Den is a large natural play area with den building, rope swings and balance beams. They also host many family-friendly events, during the school holidays with extra activities.
