Falkirk Wheel
The Falkirk Wheel is situated near Falkirk, Stirlingshire. It is a rotating boat lift in Tamfourhill in central Scotland which connects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. It opened in 2002 as part of the Millennium Link project.
It is a great place for a family day out with boat trips, a cafe, a children’s activity zone, a water play park and a mini canal. Plus bike hire, mini golf, canoeing, woodland walks, water zorbing, segways, bumper boats, archery and stand-up paddleboarding.
On one of their boat trips, you can soar 35 metres into the air on the boat lift. Boat tours take 50 minutes and include two turns on the wheel. There is a brand new mini golf course with 9 holes. Kids will love the splash zone with a huge stone map, a mini canal and more. In the kid’s activity zone, there are lots to climb, slide and play on.

What are the ticket prices?
Mini golf is £5 per person. Archery £10 per person. Bumper boats driver only £7, driver and passenger £10. Peddle boats are £5 per child. Plus there are other pricing costs for other activities. Boat trips adults £13.50, children aged 5-15 £8. Under 5s are free.

Dog friendly?
Dogs on leads are welcome at The Falkirk Wheel – around the grounds and also in the Visitors’ Centre, with the only exception being the café area.
