Ford Park Ulverston

Ford Park Ulverston

Ford Park in Ulverston, Cumbria is situated just below the Sir John Barrow Monument. It is a nine-acre green space with open fields, woodland and mature gardens that surround the Grade II listed buildings.

In the park, there is a state-of-the-art nature playground plus a nature trail with a Butterfly mound and a woodland walkway. The mature gardens, orchard and kitchen garden have been tended by volunteers over the years to bring them back to somewhere near their formal glory.

A way-marked path takes you around the grounds which is a relatively short walk and there are information boards about the wildlife that can be found in the park. Family events are held at the park throughout the year and in the kitchen garden, children can take part in the Veggie Soup Trail to learn about growing seasonal food.
