Gravity E Karting Xscape Yorkshire
Gravity Active Entertainment has recently opened a Gravity E-Karting track at Xscape in Yorkshire. We visited a few days after they opened.
Gravity E Karting Xscape Yorkshire review
The track is billed as ‘race our all-electric go-karts through busy Japanese streets to test your skill, reflexes and nerve. Speed through downhills into high-speed banked corners and leave your friends and family in the dust’. Their karts are the most high-powered e-karts on the market and they have adult, single and family karts available, the family karts are for one adult and a passenger aged 5 and over.
When you arrive your waivers are checked. You also need to have purchased one of their balaclavas. It was all a little confusing and the whole procedure wasn’t explained very well to us so we ended up watching the briefing video two sessions before we should have done.
They run a family session then a professional session, then back to a family session etc. My son found watching the professional session first rather daunting as the karts go really fast. They are eerily quiet apart from the screeching of tyres. Luckily for him, the karts go much slower during the family session.
The theming is good but the track is quite narrow and crammed in so it’s more difficult for inexperienced drivers to navigate. I loved it though and would have returned. Each session lasts for 8 minutes and your karts are automatically slowed down and sometimes stopped if there is a crash on the track. Children can drive junior karts from the ages of 8-12. They can drive adult karts from 12+ with a minimum height of 135 cm. There are free and easy-to-use lockers on-site which we found very handy.
