Things to do Harlequin Puppet Theatre review

The Harlequin Puppet Theatre is located by the sea in the seaside town of Rhos-on-Sea, North Wales. They are reputed as being Britain’s premier Marionette Theatre and they regularly present puppet shows including pantomimes at Christmas.

They are Britain’s first permanent puppet theatre and they put on a range of puppet shows throughout the school holidays. Performances usually include three different stories with an interval and magic tricks performed with the help of some of the children. This is always a very popular part of the show.

At the end, the Marionette often demonstrates his mastery in full view so the audience can see exactly how the strings are pulled. The theatre is small but with seating slightly tiered so everyone has a good view. You can prebook in advance which is recommended but you can’t book certain seats.

Most shows last an hour and a half or more including the interval when ice cream is available.
